Scientific research center

The scientific research center of the National Museum of Natural History of Luxembourg was created by the grand-ducal regulation of the 10th November 1982. Its aim is to carry out research in every domain of the natural patrimony and to contribute to its conservation.

Research activities are grouped into two departments: the Department of Life Sciences and Department of Earth Sciences. The research projects are conducted by staff of the National Museum of Natural History, by the research associates of the Museum and by external scientists.
